Welcome to the Aims & Ethos Page

Head Teacher Welcome

Welcome to our School

At Burstwick Community Primary School, our aim is to:

  • Encourage and motivate children to work to the best of their abilities
  • Apply the essential basic skills of reading, writing and maths throughout the learning experiences provided
  • Provide opportunities to deepen and broaden their learning in a variety of situations
  • Ensure children are independent, life-long learners

Our school is welcoming, friendly and a warm place; with a positive ethos based on mutual respect for all in the school. The school has amazing children, each with their own unique talents and abilities. Every day, I am amazed at what they accomplish both in and out of school. Our children take on responsibilities and are enthusiastic to please and do well with their learning.

The children, parents, staff and Governors of the school are all working together to ensure that what the children experience, meets all needs and what they accomplish with us, continues in the next step of their learning journey.

All staff strive to ensure that all children can:

  • Succeed
  • Believe in themselves
  • Achieve to the best of their abilities
  • Challenge themselves
  • And have fun!

I hope that you find the information on the website useful and that it gives you a flavour of what life is like at BCPS for all children and staff.

Our children love to showcase their learning environment and visits to the school are welcomed and strongly recommended. Please contact the School Office to make an appointment.

Best wishes

head teacher Mr Ian Cutts

Overview of our Home School Links
We are very pleased to see parents coming into our school. We all appreciate your time and efforts
whether you come into school regularly or just occasionally. Your assistance is very valuable to us
and especially to the children who benefit from the extra support given in the class.
Please always remember to sign the visitor’s book and to sign out again when you leave. This is for
security purposes.

We have a number of Guidelines here at Burstwick School. As time passes you will know more about
what we expect of the children who attend the school and how you can help the teacher by supporting the children in the classes.
